<p> </p>
<p>The end of the 1st quarter is only 1 week away.  If your child is missing or has any outstanding homework, notes were sent home last week along with FastDirect messages.  Students have until Friday October 16th to turn in that late work, for 75% of the grade otherwise those grades stay zeros permanently.  Any questions please ask.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Grades have also been updated and are as accurate as I have information for.  Any questions regarding those please ask.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Tests/Quizzes/Projects for the week ahead:</p>
<p>            Monday-</p>
<p>            Tuesday-Algebra Quiz</p>
<p>            Wednesday-</p>
<p>            Thursday-Lesson 4 Vocabulary and Test, Pre-Algebra Quiz</p>
<p>            Friday-</p>
<p> </p>
<p>            In the middle of November, specifically Friday November 13th, the 8th graders have been invited to Concordia Lutheran High School for Concordia Day.  This is a day in which all area Lutheran school 8th graders have been invited to ‘witness’ high school life for themselves.  I realize that many of you may not be sending your child to CLHS next year, but I thought that this might be an opportunity for them to see and be a part of a high school life and witness what else is out there before they head to ENHS in the spring.  Students will be able to walk the halls of Concordia, meet many of the teachers, partake in some classes, and meet some current students (like former SJK alumni Michael Boner).   I would like some feedback from you before I fully commit to this day.  If you have any questions before you make a decision, ask; otherwise please let me know by Friday October 16.</p>

<p> </p>
<p>Yesterday Progress Reports came home with your child.  If you did not see one ask about it and if necessary please contact me for another copy.  Take some time and look them over, they will give you a good idea as to how your child is beginning their 8th grade year.  If you or your child has any questions please feel free to contact me.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Next week, the 8th graders will continue their NWEA testing sessions with tests Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Please help your child do their best by encouraging them to go to bed early at night and get a good breakfast in the morning.</p>

<p> </p>
